Fall

This fall the Lone Peak volleyball team traveled to Chicago and they took me with them. I had so much fun. The first night that we were there we went and saw the broadway play "The Lion King" I LOVED IT!!! I recommend it to everyone. Even though we were there to play in a tournament we were able to still do a lot of things to enjoy the city. We took a boat tour and just walked around most of down town. The food was so good especially the pizza. I was really disappointed that I didn't get to see the United center where Micheal Jordan played. One day I will go back

While I was gone Jason was busy at work. A long time ago we sold our old dressers and I have been complaining about not having any ever since. So Jason decided that while I was gone he would suprise me by building some. They look so good!!!! Jason has developed this little hobby of building things. This summer he built a book shelf for our master bedroom. I am so amazed at how talented he is. He doesn't know this but now that I know he can build things I have a lot more ideas for the future.

Jason's big adventure

Jason is always doing things that amaze me. When we were first married he decided he would run a 10k with his family and he hadn't exercised in months. He did well for not having done any type of exercise in months. This summer he decided at the last minute that he was going to run a half marathon with his sisters (literally last min. he entered the race at 9:00p.m. the night before). He hadn't trained at all. In fact the furthest he had ever ran was a 10k. I waited at the finish with my phone in hand waiting for them to call and say Jason died some where along the way. To my suprise he came running to the finish line with his extemely fit sister Christie. He ran the half in a little over 2 hours. I was so shocked. He told me that he ran the whole way never stopping to walk once.

The poor guy was so exhausted. He threw up several times throughout the rest of the day. Later that night we went to the movies and he could hardly walk up and down the stairs. He laughed at himself and said that he looked like one of his uncles who has MD.

Are you serious... What's next?

The month of July was a crazy one for Jason and I. We discovered that our basement was flooding and that the problem was coming from a pipe from the outside. Jason decided to fix the problem on his own. He dug down 8 feet of straight clay (We don't have dirt instead we have clay). The poor guy had blisters all over his hands when he was done.

He finally fixed the problem but as you can see he got a little messy in the meantime. We had to spray him off with the hose.

Towards the end of the month Jason and I went to Blanding/Monticello for a softball tournament that he and his family were playing in. The last night we were there, Jason and I decided to go to this little pizza joint. Jason was still in his softball clothes so he didn't have any pockets. When we entered the pizza place Jason put his keys on the front counter while we ordered; after we ordered we sat down to eat. When we were done, we got up to leave and Jason realized that he no longer had his keys with him; he remembered setting them on the counter. We went up front to ask for them and they said they hadn't seen them; basically our keys disappeared. We searched the whole place from top to bottom and still came up empty. So here we are in the middle of this small town without any keys and no spare set.

The restaurant called the cops. Lucky for us our good friends/neighbors were in town for his 10 year high school reunion. I called up Preston and Ashley to see if they could help us. We needed to break into our car since we had left some valuable things inside (golf clubs, ipods, GPS system, etc) Preston was a pro and broke into our car for us. In the meantime, since Monticello is such a small town, it seemed like everybody in town was driving by. Jason's aunt and uncle both saw us on the side of the road and they stopped by to help. We were lucky to have them there since they know everybody in town. His aunt knew the cop and she convienced him to let us steal a dolly to tow the car. The cop gave us permission to steal a dolly from the town Uhaul store. Just after we stole the dolly the guy who owns the place stopped by. Lucky for us the cop gave permission to do it so we weren't in trouble. We then payed for it... $85 because some prick took our keys.

We towed the car back to Preston's parents house. Thanks to the Bunkers we were able to tow our car back home and hitch a ride ourselves.

Newport Beach

Jason and I decided to take a last min. vacation to Newport California. When we arrived and entered the lobby of our hotel we saw an unusal sceen. At the hotel we were staying at they were having a medieval role playing convention going on in one of the banquet rooms. (just in case you missed it YES I did say ROLE PLAYING). There were so many people dressed up. Jason and I couldn't resist so we walked down to the banquet room to take a peek. This is a picture of the guy who was guarding the door so normal people (that would be people who weren't given a character to play) would not enter. I was fighting back laughter the whole time. They actaully let me try on some of the costumes and let me fight one of the other characters. Jason took footage of this on his phone in case you want to see.

The first day Jason and I were so excited to be on vacation at the beach. He and I got in our swimming suits and took off to the beach. When we arrived we were so bummed that it was cold. We walked around hoping that it would get warmer but no luck. We spent the day sight seeing and shopping. We were so bummed and hoped that the rest of the vacation wasn't so cold. The next day we woke up to find the sun was out and it was nice!!! We spent the whole morning and afternoon hanging out on the beach. We should have realized that this was really our first time out all year and probably can't handle a whole day of sun because later that night we had to find a Walmart to buy some aloe. Our favorite part of Newport was Balboa. We had lunch at this cute diner that was at the end of the pier and it overlooked the ocean. After lunch we rented a canoe and we paddled around the whole Balboa Island.

The next day we decided that we better avoid the sun to give our skin a break so we headed up to LA to visit Hollywood. We took one of those tours that drives you around to all the major sites of LA. They also took us around to see where some famous people live. We saw the houses of... Micheal Jackson, George Clooney, Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Tom Cruise, Shandra Bullock, Halle Berry (there were a few more) but my favorite was the playboy mansion ;). We had a lot of fun but now it is back to reality.

First time skiing!!!

My brother-in-law got my family all ski passes to park city. It was my first time ever skiing. When we road the ski lift up to the top of the bunny hill I was asking Jason how do you get off the lift. He told me the lift kind of just pushes you out. Well when we got to the top I started getting off the chair and waited for the chair to "push me off" like my husband told me... well it didn't do what I had imagined and needless to say I fell flat on my face. I was nervous that the lift was going to hit me in the back of the head so I started army crawling away. The people working started yelling at me to stop and they had to stop the lift to get me out of the way. To top it all off Jason started laughing at me and said "Loser". He thought that I could just get back up and laugh it off. He didn't realize that I had to have the worker lift me back on my feet. Seriously one of the most "Loserish" things I have ever done. We ended up having a lot of fun. My little two year old nephew Bode went and had his own ski and I am embarrassed to say that he passed me on the way down. Jason and I decided that when we win the lottery we will have to take up skiing.

How come I am the only one that looks normal in this picture. I have no idea what Joel is doing and where the heck is Jason's left hand. This is why I say that my family is not normal:)

Jason's great idea

Jason is always looking for ways to make money or to save a buck but his lastest idea has got me thinking we have finally hit white trash status. He cleaned out our cold storage room the other day and saw some funiture we are no longer using. Thinking the way he does he decided that he would try to sale these pieces. So he listed our old kitchen table on craigs list. The next day he got a call from a young man who just moved into a new place and was looking to funish it. When the guy came to pick it up the wheels in Jason's head started turning. While the guy was loading the table Jason came into the house and was asking me if there was anything else we could try to sale him. He walked around the house talking about all sorts of things and asking how much we should offer the guy to sale it to him. He literally walked the guy through our whole house asking what else he would like to buy. Looking at the picture below... Yes!!!! Jason sold him our dressers. We literally right then and there dumped all of our cloths out and gave him our dessers. Ones that I bought at Walmart almost 5 years ago and put together myself for like $30 bucks each. Jason had repainted them to look better but still not quality. Jason sold them for $50 for both. He is a wheeler dealer. Jason has decided we can wait until the end of summer to buy new ones. So the pictures show how we are improvising... boxes and cloths on the floor.

Birthday in Cabo

CABO 2009

Jason and I had the opportunity to go to Cabo the first week in Dec. My brother-in-law's family has a beach house there and some of my family decided to go down for a little sun in the winter. The house that we stayed in was amazing!!! I took a picture of the back of the house we stayed with my sister Windy. The house was like something you would see on MTV cribs. It had 8 bedrooms and each bedroom was like a master suite. The pool on the deck was incredible. It was one of those pools that is on the edge and looks like the pool was falling over the edge. At the house there was jeeps and scooters at our use. It was a lot of fun to ride on the scooters to check out all the views of Cabo.

The house had stairs that led down to the beach. We had a lot of fun playing on the beach and the boys had a lot of fun crashing into the waves. The beach had a big undertoe and the guys seemed to enjoy being tossed around.

My little one year old nephew Bode was a little scared of the waves. He loved the beach but not the water. Any time someone went close to the waves he would freak out and start screaming their name for them to come back. I really think that he was afraid we would be taken out to sea. It was so cute that I would walk towards the ocean just to hear his sweet concern for me.

I was lucky enough to celebrate my 29th birthday while we were there. We spent the day at Lover's beach. We took a tour around the famous arch and spent the day snorkeling. Jason, Drew, and Donnie all decided to jump off this big rock in the middle of the ocean. all the boats that went by would cheer them on. While we were snorkeling Jason hit his knee on some coral. It was bleeding pretty heavy. I was scared that he was going to need stitches. Lucky for him it wasn't as bad as it looked. Now he just as an ugly scar on his knee.

We were told that the Office was the best restaurant down there so we went there for dinner. At dinner they asked if anybody was having a birthday and since it was mine they had me come up and dance on stage. Dinner was a lot of fun until it got time to leave. Our waiter was horrible so my family didn't leave a great tip. Well this ticked off the waiter and he actually tried to start a fight. Us girls had to wait in the car while the boys tried to settle the situation.

It was really hard to come home to the snow and the cold. Before we left Jason thought that it would be nice to save money and turn our heat off... not down... OFF. When we got home at 11:30 p.m. our house was 35 degrees. I'm shocked the toilet water wasn't frozen over. We went from 80 degrees to 35. I should have taken pictures. We were so cold we put on sweats, mittens, scarfs, basically any warm thing we could get our hands on. We just jumped into bed and bundled up trying to not freeze to death. I think it took us a couple of days to unthaw
